History
In 1979, there was a near-fatal student-on-student attack at San Francisco' Galileo High School. Adults began to intervene after the fact; they learned that other youth had known that the conflict was imminent. What might have been different if youth had been trained with the tools to handle the problems that arise in their own lives?
This was how Peer Resources began, with the premise that young people are on the front lines of their own lives, and with the resources and opportunities to lead, will make the best choices for themselves and their peers. Peer Resources saw that young people can take action immediately and built a city-wide program to provide concrete allyship to youth leaders on the verge.

Our Mission
Peer Resources creates just change in our schools and communities through the leadership of young people supporting, training, and advocating for each other.
Our Programs
Our programs focus on empowering youth from the classroom and beyond. Peer Leaders gives youth the tools they need to help their peers with skills like conflict resolution and schoolwork. The Educator Path Program prepares young adults for a career in education or school counseling.
