Educator Pathway Program
Our Mission Statement
Recognizing that education is the foundation of a thriving democracy, we envision a public school system that is by and for the community, offering an education for liberation that fights the current school-to-prison pipeline. Our pipeline will foster and cultivate the innate richness in our community and our people. In this school system, young people, especially historically underserved youth, will know that they belong—that they are welcome, safe, and believed in by the institution.
Vision
The Educator Pathway Program raises homegrown teachers of and for San Francisco, creating a school-to-liberation pipeline. We are a Coalition of youth development organizations, expanded learning and youth worker employers, K-19 educational institutions, and community non-profits.
Our Reach
The SFEPC believes in putting the needs of youth before those of any one organization. Together, we are bridging across the systemic gaps that appear in the face of our individual work.
Programs Include:
Supporting SFUSD alumni of color who are transitional aged by providing educational and career planning through one on one coaching/mentoring as well as a series of development workshops.
This program provides students with the opportunity to explore a potential career in education by gaining professional experience in planning, implementing, and coordinating projects and activities within the Peer Leaders program.
Prepare 10th grade students to have basic job/career readiness skills to JJSE students before they choose a pathway for their 11th and 12th grade years while modeling what an educator, broadly, could look and feel like.
